POETRY The Mountain
I've journeyed to the Mountain through the trees
Over hills of pain and swam the deepest seas
And though I still gaze upon it with the forest at my back
Ready to climb it now, but afraid of what I might lack
Ive rounded this mountain through the sins of my flesh
So many times tangled up in this mesh
A crooked path has led me to this plane
Hid in my shadow, soaked in shame
Oh I can see the top of the mountain so clear
But still consumed with endless fear
Of failure and hate
Of unforgivness and bait
Why is there always something to get over
Hills of danger seem ever closer
But Youve called me to this mountain
Time and time again
Often I didnt listen and wandered from the road
Staggered from the weight of my heavy load
That I would stubbornly carry alone
Forgetting what Ive always known
And You found me each time in the rubble
Fighting the will, the pain and the struggle
Crooked path I did make
Wandering off, but You never forsake
Through the trees, over the hills, in the deepest sea
You are there calling to me
But this ledge I sit on now looking up to the top
Here I stand, here I stop
And take it all in
This journey Ive been
All that was fought
And all that was bought
Of the love and the tears
Of the pain and the fears
Just the beginning of my trials to befall
As I begin to ascend and follow Your call
My feet step the trail to begin again
My Journey to the Mountain

This work is truly an inspirational journey. It mirrors the voice of the psalms. It takes us in our humanity and beams hope in the image of what we really are. The gentle words are encouraging, the photos softly complement the thoughts. The work is honest, and realizes one's vulnerabilities. Even helplessness. But then, behold, all things are made new again.
